Sr. Apparel Designer
Contract/ Freelance
We are seeking an Sr. Apparel Designer to support our team on ongoing capsule collections and brand collaborations across multiple apparel brands. The ideal candidate is someone with a deep appreciation for visual storytelling, adept at narrative art direction, and the ability to effortlessly translate look, feel and voice into physical garments. The right candidate will have experience in defining market trend/competitive research, developing concept designs, detailed design, color story, graphics, and product specifications to a finished stylized design in a complete tech pack.
We value collaborators who are curious, creatively agile, and grounded in both technical craft and cultural awareness. The ideal portfolio should reflect experience in Lifestyle apparel, streetwear, elevated merch design or brand collaborations — and demonstrate a range of styles from refined to expressive, from technical to editorial.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Haus Haus creative team to oversee multiple collections across our range of collaborating brands
Conduct market research to identify new trends, fabrics and techniques, and seek design inspiration. Identify opportunities for new products
Collaborate with team to select capsule themes, make edits to line, create new concepts, identify/select fabrics and trims
Present story, mood, color boards, and inspirational samples to team
Create production sketches for development packages, and develop tech packs as required
Manage the overall design process to ensure that the product designed in concept is successfully meeting business needs, timelines and adjusting with feedback from the team. Designers should also work with the sourcing team to ensure all designs are coming in at cost targets
Performs market research to fully understand textile trends and applications for assigned product category, competing brand benchmarks, materials specifications, and required functional performance for assigned material/project development
Collaborates with Development Partners to identify and select materials for designs
Create CAD mockups and visual aids that accurately communicate graphic placement and size on garments and packaging
Must be comfortable in working on all product categories: wovens, knits, bottoms, outerwear, graphic tees, and accessories
Responsible for the cohesiveness of assigned product categories
Qualifications
5 + years’ apparel design experience
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
Who You Are
Strong understanding of brand’s aesthetic
Ability to creatively use color, shape, texture, and construction techniques
Ability to hand sketch designs, create story boards, and develop detailed tech packs
Strong knowledge of tech packs, garment construction and specs, fabrics, notions and trims
Knowledge of current design and cultural trends, and how to thoughtfully integrate them into creative work.
Flexible, reliable, responsive, and collaborative - able to both take direction and offer design leadership when needed
Able to work independently and manage multiple projects while staying aligned with timelines and team workflows
Willingness to learn, iterate, and support team feedback cycles as part of the design process
Proficient use with software programs: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Google Suite, Asana
Experience and ability to successfully communicate with overseas factories
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management skills
